GF brought her Delonghi Dedica when we moved in together.
Never was able to pull a decent shot, especially with the stock dedica grinder and pressurized Portafilter.

So i decided to take matters into my own.
Startet with getting a better bottomless Portafilter, moddified the stock grinder, still not happy.
Got the Kingrinder K6 and then decided on modding the machine, adding a Manometer and Dimmer.

Very happy with the result, able to grind fine enough with the K6 and reducing the pressure to around 8-9 Bars with the dimmer and manometer.

*On the last picture you can see when she started regretting letting me do the mods ^^

What do you think? πŸ™‚

  1. Total noob here. You are modifying the pressure but can you just tweak that with a dimmer for the pump? Or how does that work? Thanks!

Damn I’d love a manometer on my humble little dedica. Just seems like too much work though.

  3. Dude this is so hardcore and I like it! Love my dedica, and yes it needs a good grinder and you’ll be 10x happier with your coffee.

Nicely done. I like the design of the 3D printed housing.

  7. That’s amazing. You’re only missing the Rancilio Silvia steam wand mod!

That bottomless portafilter costs about the same as the machine?

I wanna do mods. Is there a place I can read up?
